Our Division 35 Theme that year was "Lead with your Heart, Invest in our Youth, and Serve with a Smile."

At the start of his year, LTG Bashir said, "I am thrilled and proud to serve with all of you "Top Guns of Service" as we soar high "On the Wings of Service" (our District motto this year). Our District focus this year is to Grow, ELIMINATE, and Celebrate.. As we implement "The Formula" and put our minds to "Love It", "Share It", and "Live It", lets wow to strengthen our existing clubs with increased membership, and start new clubs in our communities. Lets work hard to reach our goal of raising 110 million dollars for ELIMINATE, and get rid of Maternal Neo-Natal Tetanus. Lets gear up and plan for a huge celebration for Kiwanis 100 year anniversary next year. I invite each and every one of you to get involved with our Sponsored Youth, our best hope for a better tomorrow. These dedicated and passionate young service leaders need our guidance and continued support. I can't think of a better way to do this, but to: Lead with your Heart, Invest in our Youth, and Serve with a Smile."

G is for "Growth”, increase our clubs’ membership by at least 10% and bring our smaller clubs up to the 15 member minimum.

E
is for “Encourage”, support our Sponsored Youth Programs while building leaders for tomorrow’s Kiwanis Clubs.

M is for “Member”, bring new members and current members together to build a strong relationship within our communities.

S is for “Service”, apply whenever possible the Kiwanis slogan “Serving The Children Of The World One Child At A Time”.  This can be accomplished through our Sponsored Leader Programs and within our Communities.  Let’s be CNH “Superheroes of Service”.

At the start of the year, LTG Davis said, "I look forward to serving as Division 35 Lt. Governor for 2013-2014 and making GEMS of us all."

Brad's Mission Statement for Division 35:
My theme this year [was] "Superheroes for Kids" which emphasizes our support for our Sponsored Youth Programs: K-Kids, Aktion Clubs, Builders Clubs, Key Clubs, KIWIN's and Circle K. As Superheroes, we have the responsibility of bringing leadership opportunities and skills to our youth from elementary through college levels. In addition, our Kiwanis Clubs have many ways of supporting youth from getting involved in their activity programs, to providing clothes, food and school supplies, to providing scholarships.
Children are Kiwanis’ Priority One and as the Division 35 Sponsored Leadership Program Chairman the past 5 years, I have seen how important that working with our sponsored youth is the success of Kiwanis. The guidance, wisdom, and leadership opportunities that we provide these students is extremely valuable for them now and for their future. Therefore, it is my goal that everyone put on their Superhero Persona and get a little more involved with the kids.

"My theme this year [was] “Plant a Seed, Grow a Kiwanian."  A new crop of Builders Clubbers, Key Clubbers and KIWIN’s have the opportunity to share the same experience in service leadership that I experienced as a kid. The seed was planted in me years ago, whether I was conscious of it or not. As an adult I knew that when I had time in my schedule to join a community service organization, it would be Kiwanis.  No other club invests as much as Kiwanis in bringing leadership opportunities and skills to our youth from elementary through college levels. I am confident that when we plant those seeds, working side-by-side with our sponsored youth and reminding them that they are the future of Kiwanis, they will grow into fine Kiwanians."  Remember: the more members our clubs have, the more service they can do to support their communities.  The growth of Membership leads to growth in Service and when you do service & have enough members you can have more fun.  This focus is based on the Cal-Nev-Ha Governor's "Carrier of Service" Theme.
